🌿Evening Horse Riding Experience🌿
Arrival before Golden Hour
Arrive latest 4pm so that we can be ready to start when the heat of the day will ease. You are most welcome to arrive earlier in the afternoon for more time to explore the property and meet the other animals.
Meet, groom and prepare your horse
You’ll start with grooming and tacking up, an essential part of horse care. This introduction important for both you and your horse to get to know each other before starting the ride. If this is new for you, we'll give you a quick intro and chat about how horses think and communicate.
Horse Riding Lesson
We begin riding around 4:30pm with a short lesson guided by an instructor. Our horses are responsive, and well-schooled. You will need to use your balance and focus to move forward, steer, and stop. More experienced riders may do some basic dressage or schooling exercises. On very hot days, we may ride through the farm first, then end with training exercises once it cools down.
Ride through the farm - open space, cool shade, pretty landscapes
We'll ride down past the rice paddy and over wide fields, under the coconut trees, alongside the lake, and through a forest path. Your instructor will give the opportunity for more experienced riders to trot or canter where the ground is suitable. We may pause to let the horses graze and rest, and to take photos. If you are two persons, it will be time to swap to the second rider half-way through. We may do some more exercises, games, or challenges throughout the ride.
Untack, cool down, and care for your horse
Once we return to the yard around 6:30pm, you'll help untack your horse and leave his equipment clean and tidy. Make sure your horse is cooling off and has a nice drink of water, before serving him his food bowl to thank him for taking you for a ride.
